Karen Lesley Bird

Karen Lesley Bird passed away Sunday 21st January 2007. Karen died age 45 years after fighting a
long brave battle with cancer. Karen worked as an Auxillary Nurse at Pontefract General Hospital all
of her working life, unfortunately the illness caused her to have to give up her job which was one
of her passions in life.
Karen leaves behind a heartbroken family which consists of her Mum and Dad who she adored, 2 sisters
Tina and Sharon and David her only brother.
Karen was married and had 2 children who I know she fought so bravely not to leave behind, her
family were her life.
Karen had neices and nephews who she loved and care for in many ways, to them there were times she
was a surrogate mum or sister and I know they are all going to miss her like crazy.
Karen was such a special person she looked after so many people in her short life, she was the kind
of person who was like a shining star, beautiful, so innocent in many ways but yet so wise.
I know Karen is going to leave a large void in everyones life, even people who were just an
aquaintance because to us her family she was everything anyone could have wanted in a wife,Mum,
daughter, sister, Auntie etc.
Karen we will go on loving you forever.
